So I go and get a cool new design for my blog and then I disappear…AWESOME!

Of course I’ve been busy…who isn’t, but really I’ve just been tired.  I have been working at work and then working at home and then trying to go to bed way earlier because my children love the 5 to be in the beginning of the time on the clock so they can get up and play and eat or both.

So needless to say, there has been less and less time to blog.  For that I apologize.

I was really trying to come back strong with some very witty blog, but I’ve got nothing.  Life is good…plain and simple.

Bree continues to have good and bad growing pains.  Today I picked her up from school and as always asked her how her day was.   I asked “What did you do today?” and she said “Paint”.  So I asked, “What did you paint?” and she said “Orange”.  I really felt like we had our first true conversation…that I just got to understand from her instead of putting together context clues.  So I asked her teacher if they painted something orange and she shook her head NO.  I was so sad.  I guess Bree thought school would have been better if they had painted something, anything…orange.  I mean she’s barely two, I need to get my expectations in check.

Bauer is growing like a weed.  And I’ve discovered the beauty of raising a second child.  You don’t rush them to do anything.  He’s been crawling backwards for 2 weeks now and everyday I think he may figure out the forward motion, but I’m not really thinking about it while we play.  I just let him do his thing.  There is no worry or charting of milestones (poor thing still has an empty baby book).  But you really are so in the moment with them.  I do want him to hurry up and hold his own bottle…just because that would be incredibly helpful, but then he won’t truly be my baby anymore, okay so nevermind.

I’ve posted some of our latest pictures below:

The weather has been exceptionally nice in Texas…60s and 70s most days (minus this past weekend).  The Murphys had a “happy hour” on our deck!  Everyone had a great time!  Nothing beats Beer and Goldfish!

Bathtime gets more and more frequent at the Murphy house now that we have two children who don’t scream when they see water.  Maybe its the 500 toys and bubbles in Bree’s bath that make it so exciting.  And then there is my sweet adorable Bauer…he has loved water from day one.

We attended my friend Cathy’s daugher’s first birthday Saturday…it was the first of two parties on Birthday Party Saturday.  We only let Bree drink juice boxes at birthday parties.  It happened pretty much by accident at one birthday party about a year ago and ever since that’s been the rule.  Reese kindly let Bree have 4 juice boxes while we were at the party.  I mean we all know a good thing when we see it.   Bree hit the Pinata at the party and also pretended everyone was singing “happy birthday” just to her (see below).  She also tried to be the first guest to try Reese’s special cake.  I so have “that kid”.

The second birthday party of the day was for my best friend Keri’s 30th birthday.  She had a field day themed event thus Sean and I’s outfits.  We were partners in the egg toss….we lost. Bree and Bauer had a great time hanging out at the party…they were the only kiddos, but definitely add a whole new element to every party.

The birthday girl and me…looking hot Ms. Keri!

As I said earlier, Bauer still only crawls backwards…thus we end up in some strange places…like under our bed.

All my favorite Murphy men…Sean, Bauer and Bunson!

And finally, as random as it seems, Bree is eating an apple just like a big person.  She loves to eat it just like Mommy does.  Unfortunately, she loves to grab a one from the bowl on the table and take 1 or 2 big bites and then start the process over again.  I normally find 1 or 2 random apples discarded randomly on the floor and then find her standing in the kitchen chair working on getting victim number 3.  I have had to deal with the fact that every apple I eat will probably have a few preliminary bites gone already.  I told you growing pains…

Have a great week everyone!
