So 2010 is off to a fast and furious start. I’ve been working a lot and thus it has been really hard to find time to blog. And in the midst of the craziness, I’ve been wondering about a few things…
Could my little man get any more comfortable while eating a donut and watching his beloved dora??
When did my little man get so grown up?
Will my son eat anything other than corn, ketchup, and spaghetti o’s and meatballs in his lifetime??
Bauer continues to be such an amazing little boy. He has this infectious giggle that makes it impossible to get mad at him. He pushes every button (literal) and every “button” (mental) he can find and giggles throughout it all. He is just plain clever and it scares me a lot, but also makes me pretty darn proud. I was reflecting this past week about him turning 18 months old in a couple weeks on Bree’s birthday. It is just unreal to me that he was born when Bree was that exact age. No wonder so many people looked at Sean and I like we had lost our minds when they found out we were pregnant again. We had…and are still searching for those silly minds. 18 months is still a baby in so many respects and it is no wonder that it’s still pretty foggy looking back at the last year and half. We just did what it took to survive and thank goodness I blogged about it so at least I have some of the humorous and some of the hard moments documented.
Our little diva is definitely coming up on three very quickly. I’ve realized why so many people tell me that two’s are bad, but three’s can be much worse. They are more vocal, smarter, and just more defiant at age 3 because it’s fun. Well, “fun”. The definition depends on who you are talking to. I’m pretty sure that Bree has figured out that no prize is really worth it for going pee pee or poo poo on the potty (thus we are still not potty trained or anywhere close) and really a few minutes on the naughty chair is a bit of a change of pace. In the past week, I’ve caught her deliberately tripping Bauer (just stuck her foot out as he was running by) and hit Beaker hard with a racket. Good news is that she realizes that these are wrong, but bad news is that she still does it time and time again. Oh the joys of a strong willed little girl. Karma is such a beating…
One blessing to the crazy couple of weeks I’ve had at work is that it has truly shown me how hard it is to work “full-time” and have enough patience and energy at the end of the day to come home to my kiddos. Sometimes I forget to be thankful for my part-time schedule especially when the kids are pushing all those buttons, but it is so worth my dedication. I just love having time with them and have missed it so much these past couple weeks. My eratic hours at work don’t end until after Panhellenic Recruitment (Bid Day on January 30)…but then I’ll have my Bree/Bauer time back in full swing!
We all are looking forward to that!
Hope your 2010 is keeping you thankful for your many blessings!
Bree: "Born January 29, 2007. I love to jump, dance, sing, play the harmonica, swing, look at airplanes, slide and memorize everything I hear and see, especially in my books. My favorite foods are fish sticks, bagel bites and chicken nuggets."
Bauer: "Born July 29th, 2008. "Yes, I'm exactly 18 months younger than my sister and will truly enjoy the half birthday gifts this brings Bree and I through the years. I'm so much fun and I love to pull hair. Bree doesn't know what's coming her way."
